More enhancements to Foundation Directory Online!

Dear Cooperating Collection Supervisor:
We want to give you a heads up about some forthcoming changes to Foundation Directory Online.
The most obvious change will be the complete redesign of the grantmaker, company,
and grant records. Here is a sample screen shot so you'll know what to expect:
In terms of design, for grantmaker and company records, we've added "At A Glance" at the top for
basic information and individual segments for each major part of the record. The left side of the
screen provides "Jump To" links to these various segments. At the bottom of the screen, will be a
link for users to contact our publishing staff. Look for more changes to the grant records coming soon.
To quote Dave Clark, the Center's Manager of Online Subscription Services:
"It's the same great information, in a great new package!"
We've also added some new data to grantmaker records: a notation as to the
IRS section under which a foundation is exempt and supplemental classification information
(such as family foundation, giving circle, supporting organization, etc.). Company records will
also now contain metropolitan area and county data. Grant records will now contain metropolitan area,
county, and zip code data.
As to features, we have expanded County, Metro Area, and Zip Code searching to Companies and Grants.
So, you'll see these new search fields on the relevant search screens. And, for our FDO subscribers we've
expanded tagging to grant records, as well.
As always we want our CC supervisors to be among the first to know about enhancements to
Foundation Directory Online, especially for those of you who are frequently demonstrating
it for your own audiences and at training sessions.
